Floating Temple Hall (Mangetsu-ji Temple)

A photo spot resting on the surface of the lake

The ancient temple is said to have been built in the Heian period (794 to 1185). The Floating Temple beyond the approximately 17-meter stone bridge looks like it is floating on Lake Biwa. Known for Katata no Rakugan (Geese Descending at Katata), one of the Eight Views of Omi Province, the mystical atmosphere of the temple continues to fascinate many people to this day.
